A good sign....

Tonight was the first shower I have ever taken in my downstairs bathroom!! After 4+ years, it was a great experience. This must mean the end is in site. I have a few new pics to get on here soon, but it is really coming together. Artwork is on the wall. Towels are hung. Just some touch up stuff to finish in the next couple weeks. I am also building a custom shelf for the bathroom, hope to have that done soon.

Trim, Vanity, Toilet, Shower

Tonight was some good progress. After Sunday the vanity and toilet were in place. I still have some issues with the piping for the sink, but the pieces are in place, just need to get a new set of PVC pipes.

Tonight I finished the trim and also installed the rest of the shower...... and it works!!

I sealed the shower again and the floor to be sure there is a good seal.

I have some small touch up painting to finish up, have someone come out and bid the shower door, and get some towel racks and art on the walls. I think by the end of the weekend this project will be close to being in the books.

The End Is In Sight, Almost

This weekend was one of ups and downs. Saturday I made progress on the trim (all cut and painted and ready to install), painting the ceiling, sealing the tile on the floor and shower walls. I updated all of the lights in the bathroom and am very happy with the look of everything so far.

I also had some slow downs in the shower installation and had to remove a piece of tile to make it fit. I also am having an issue with some grout drying on the shower floor which is slowing my finishing process. I bought the toilet, and tonight after trying to install it realized that it just won't work in the bathroom. It stuck out to far. So off to the Depot to return that and continue the search.
I am ready to finish installing the trim, secure the vanity and hook up the plumbing. I will finish sealing the shower once all the grout is dry.

I didn't do a lot of work today as I rode "Pearl" to my parents for mothers day. Oh yeah, Pearl is my new ride. She arrived last week and I picked her up on Saturday. Let's say the 34 degree temperature and riding a motorcycle are two things I hope to never combine again, but I got some good miles on and I love the new bike. I will get some pics up this week.

Happy mother's day to all those wonderful mom's I know. Especially my sister, sister-in-law, grandma and of course my own mother. You all make the world a better place.

Finalzing the Floor

Last night I was able to finish the curb of the shower and the entire bathroom floor with grout. Process was not as bad as the shower walls. That is my goal tonight, finish the grouting!! It should take me another hour and then I will seal it when dry.

The trim is the next big step and I will be stopping on my way home to get that. Then measure, measure, cut, paint and hang (did you see how I measured twice and cut once?).

Check out the grouted floor. It is all coming together. Hoping a few more days and the little things can start to come into place.

The End is in Sight

This past week was one of great progress. I was able to finish tiling the floor on Saturday. I also laid the shower floor on Saturday. Lots of work but I was very happy with how it turned out.

Yesterday I had a few helpers and we painted the bathroom walls. I also began grouting last night, and that is not a fun process. I got one shower wall done and also the shower floor.

Tomorrow I hope to get the other two walls and the bathroom floor done. Then it is painting the ceiling, trim all around, some shelves in the shower, vanity, toilet and the end is in sight!!!
