We Finally Made It to See Emily!

April 22, 2008- 11:00pm, I land. Emily was really excited that I picked the late flight:) But she and Thor (dog) picked me up with smiles on. Terri flew in that day as well, but stayed with a friend in Denver for a couple nights.

Emily had to work on Wednesday so I rented a car and went to go visit some old friends in Denver and Colorado Springs. It was a gorgeous day and I spent the afternoon hiking in the Garden of the Gods. It was 80 degrees and sunny, I could not have asked for a better experience that afternoon. After my day of hiking I returned to Boulder to see Emily and Lars and accompany Emily on her 22 mile run. I know, she's crazy. But she did great and it was a gorgeous area we went running/riding (I was on a bike, I'm not that crazy!!). (On a side note, the Ironman she was training for in Spain was in May and she finished 9th among the pros. She did great and as always, I am very proud of her.)

Terri joined us after Emily's run and we drove up to the mountains to stay for a couple nights. We hit the outlet malls and did a little hike, or walk I guess it was and tried a couple local establishments. It snowed a couple inches while we were up there. It was a great trip and we were very excited to get to spend time together. Of course we laughed about all the funny stories from our younger years, which is always the best part of those little reunions.
