Next Year's Big Move...

August 31, 2008- As most of you may know, I will be spending 6 months next year in France for work. I am very excited, nervous, scared, elated, etc. A lot of emotions go through one's mind when an opportunity like this comes up.
I wanted to give you a quick idea of where I will be located. I will be working in the town of Passy, France. I will be living near Chamonix, France. I've heard it described as the Aspen of the Alps. It is very close to the Switzerland and Italy borders, which means great weekend road trips for me!
Here are some pics of what I hope to see next year. Hope you can follow me on my journey, I plan to blog very often.

Twins??? In Madison??

August 2, 2008- As some of you know, my good friends Susan and Carl were blessed with twins in early July. Sam and Ella were quite a surprise, but all seem to be doing well when I arrived. Susan gives me a hug and says, "here, have a baby." Sam and I bonded immediately. I was pretty much with a baby in hand the rest of the weekend. We took them to their first State Street lunch and afternoon trip. Topped off of course with a cold one at the union.
The next morning Susan and I ventured out with the twins to the farmers market around the Capital. We got a lot of looks, not sure if that's because we each had a 3 week old child on our chest in the Baby Bjorn, or if they thought we were a lesbian couple with 3 week old babies on our chests. We tried not to hold hands or anything obvious, but it was a good time. We also sampled multiple cinnamon rolls to find the best one to bring home to Carl. We feel it was a sacrifice we could handle.
I had a little slumber party with Sam and Ella so Susan could sleep and Carl could go meet some boys for a drink. It was pretty fun, they are good cuddlers.

We pretty much hung out, grilled out and Susan and I got to go see a movie. It was a great weekend and I miss all 4 of them already.
Below, Sam is sporting his onesie I made them, One Fisch, Two Fisch. Sam came out second so he got the Two. For those that do not know, their last name is Fischer.

Baptism in July

July 4, 2008- So I know this post is about 2 months overdue, but you all know how my summer has been. We headed west on July 1st to meet our newest family member, Henry. He met his godfather below. I know Steve looks scared, but he got better:)
We spent 5 fabulous days with Sara, Dom, Adam and Henry over the 4th of July. The entire family was there and we did some pretty cool stuff. Had a great picnic in the redwoods, drove to the coast, and spent time just hanging out at some great wineries.
We also went swimming one day. Adam had not been in the big pool but Aunt Beth and Uncle Steve showed him how much fun it was. On a side note, I got yelled at by the lifeguard for doing a flip off of the diving board...... it's a diving board! I did not understand.

Adam loves helping his dad in the back yard. He also loved playing with me in the sandbox. We dug many holes and played with trucks for hours on end. Quite the little construction man we have.

It was a great trip and we were sad to go. But we will see them all again at Christmas. Next for me is Las Vegas for our summer sales meeting for work. Check back soon...
