School is Done, Time for Some Fun!!

As most of you may or may not know, I have been working on my MBA for three years. Well I can now say I am done!! Last Thursday I completed my last final and turned in my last group project. I am thrilled to be done and very proud that I managed to get this degree while working full-time and coaching for part of it.

Now that I am done, I needed something new to fill my time...... so I had planned to redo my bathrooms and started planning for the downstairs bathroom a few months ago. I was pretty excited to start demolition, but told myself I could not start until I was done with school, so I get to rip stuff apart!!
Before I began real demo, some before pictures.

Day One: Only 45 minutes to do all this!

Day Two: Another hour or so and got it almost ready to start adding stuff back in.

Linoleum is my new least favorite type of flooring. Actually it is more the glue than the flooring itself. But a spray bottle and an awesome scraper have helped me so far.

I will continue to post updates as the progress continues. I will be in a holding pattern until my contractor and lead worker (aka. My Brother) can swing over for a day. I need to level the floor before I tile and really kick start my tile work.

Funny story for the first two days: I realized that when you unscrew a shower handle, and the water source is still turned on, you will get a face/head full of water. Not too funny with a drill in hand and clothes on, but lesson learned.

I have purchased the toilet, vanity, sink and faucet. Looking forward to the challenge. Thanks for tracking the progress with me.

Baptism Round Three

A few weeks ago we made the trek to Antigo, WI for Myles Robert's baptism. The trip got started on a sad note as Gretchen and Steve had to put down one of their dogs the night we left. After that we started on the 4 hours trek. We rolled in to Gretchen's parents place around midnight. In the AM we got up, had some good grub and took off for a snowmobile ride. Mom and dad had not been on a sled for over 30 years. We had a great time. After lunch, a shower, and a nap, we headed off to the church for baptism.

Myles was a rockstar for the brief ceremony. Afterwards we went to a great dinner and then took Myles swimming. He has a great feel for the water at a young age so I think we will have another little stud in the water in a few years. Check out some great pics from the weekend.

California Kids Come East

January 2nd this year Sara, Dom and the boys flew in for a week long visit. Katie and I picked them up at the airport (we can't fit in one car anymore) and we headed over to Steve and Gretchen's to meet their new cousin and nephew, Myles.

We hung out all night and played some Wii. It was entertaining to say the least. Sunday we got up and stopped to see Chris and Jen and meet little TJ. The dad came and whisked them off to Hutch for the week. I put in a hard week of work and then headed to Hutch for the weekend.

We went swimming at the middle school for about a half hour before we were freezing, only to realize that we had cold showers too!! The boys seemed to be ok, but Dom and I were ready to be warm again.

The Blue Tongue is From Frosting, Not the Cold Water

Saturday, we had planned a surprise 60th b-day for my dad, and also a 4th birthday party for Adam. It was a great time. My grandparents, and a lot of my dad's siblings came over to help us celebrate. It is always wonderful to see all of them. After the party we headed back to my place for one more night of hanging out, reading books, watching movies and seeing some more friends.

As always, their visits go too quickly and I miss them as soon as they leave. I hope to get out to Napa sometime this year for a visit. The boys are growing up and changing so quickly. They definitely keep me on my toes!

I am alive!!

Hi all. I know I have been MIA for a while. Let me explain. I am in my final two classes of my MBA. I have never taken two classes at once so it's a little crazy for the next 4 weeks. But then, I AM DONE!!!

Work is great, busy, but great. Starting to lay out my plans for trips coming up this Spring.

I have pictures to post from Christmas and the Californians visit in January.

Also would like to wish my dad a HAPPY 60th Birthday today. He and mom are at an all-inclusive for the week so I wish them a very relaxing and enjoyable time.

Hope all is well.

Cheers.
